Cut-off Wheel is designed to provide high cut rates and long life to all most all the materials including fiberglass, stainless steel, mild steel and aerospace alloys. This cut-off wheel is ideal for use on a wide variety of utility type cut-off tools and it should not be used without guards. Manufactured with the latest technology this produce minimal burr for cleaning and cutting of carbon and stainless steel and provide more cuts per disc. Cut-off wheels are used to cut bars, stock, pipes and other materials that are made of metal, concrete, or masonry. Cut-off wheels is a centre mounted device, which consists of an integral shank, pin, shaft and mandrel that drives the mounted wheel. This cut-off wheel has different types of wheels attached to it, like some wheels are grinding wheels that consist of abrasive grains which are bonded together by a rubber, metal or vitrified glass material. Some cut-off wheels also has straight wheels, which are used in slot cutting application and has simple flat disc shape, without any flaring or cups. Some wheels are depressed center cut-off wheels, which protect mounting hardware from mechanical processes. Different applications of cut-off wheels include dry cutting, wet cutting, bench grinding, back stand grinding, or portable grinding operations. It is also used in the production of automotive parts, ceramics and glass, ophthalmic and optical products, plastics and composites, or semiconductors and electronics.
These center-mounted devices consist of an integral shank, pin, shaft, or mandrel that drives a mounted wheel or blades. Some cut-off wheels are grinding wheels that consist of abrasive grains bonded together by a matrix of resins, epoxy, rubber, metal, and vitrified glass materials. Straight wheels are used in slot cutting applications and have a simple, flat disc shape without any recesses, flaring or cups. Depressed center cut-off wheels that protect mounting hardware from mechanical processes are also available. Sectioning blades consist of very thin super abrasive wheels that are used to slice boules into semiconductor wafers, dice processed wafers into integrated circuit chips or dies, cut optical components, and perform other specialized cutting operations. Saws or cut-off blades with slots are used to remove debris and improve cutting performance.
Cut-off wheels use several types of abrasive grains, which help them to perform better and efficiently cut various types of material. Different types of abrasive grains used in cut-off wheels are ceramic grains, abrasives suitable for finishing applications, synthetic abrasive etc. Alumina-zirconia grains are used to improve grinding performance on materials such as stainless steel. Synthetic diamond super abrasives are used for grinding nonferrous metals, ceramics, glass, stone, and building materials. Cubic boron nitride (CBN), another type of super abrasives is used for providing superior grinding performance on carbon and alloy steels. Cubic boron nitride is second only to diamond in terms of hardness. Crushed tungsten carbide grits are useful in metal-bonded products that abrade tough materials such as composites, fiberglass, reinforced plastics, and rubber.
