Can I leave Black & Decker Versapak batteries in the charger for extended periods of time?
I bought a versapak-compatible Dustbuster and left the batteries in the vacuum and charging even during months of non-use. The batteries are now toast and can’t hold a charge for more than 2-3 minutes. I bought new batteries but can’t find the original Dustbuster manual. Should I remove the Dustbuster from the vacuum after it charges? How long does it take to charge? I have the Dustbuster VP7240 but the B&D doesn’t have that manual available online.
You need to unplug the charger when fully charged if u intend on leaving batteries in charger or remove dustbuster from vacuum.When battery is low plug in charger and charge for 2hrs.If you leave it in charger for an extended period of time, it will over heat and battery be no good.
