How can i get better internet signal on my laptop from my brothers router next door?
My brother and i share internet service, we live on 3 acres but in different houses and i pay for the internet, but we have a wire going underground to the 2 houses, he has a router over there at house and him and his gf are on wireless over there and i have my desktop on wired here at my house, i just recently got a laptop and can use the wireless as long as im in my kitchen, it reaches the router next door signal, but when i go further into my house to my bedroom i get nothing. If i buy another router to place here at my house or an access point to place here at my house. Will i be able to get wireless throughout my house and will the signal be stronger?
If you use a wireless access point connected to your existing cable you will then get normal wireless range through your house. You can then install a wireless card on the desktop, or alternatively get a small (4 or 5 port) network switch and connect that to the line, access point and desktop.
