???hi i need help my drill broke!! what can i do to fix this i need it to work with in the hour ????????
there is the main part of drill and then the part that turns, and on the end of that the part that holds the drill bit, the part of mine that is BROKEN is the very first part that is off the main part, i was using my drill to make holes in concrete using masonary bit doing 3rd hole and it just unscrews itself !! so now i have the main handel with a screw pointing out and the parts that turn ,i dont know what to do i need to drill 3 holes in some 2×4 today and this is holding me up PLEASE help is there any way to fix this ????? this is a crafts men 30amp? drill and i got from sears awhile ago .
What I think I’m seeing is “the very first par that is off the main part” is probably the chuck that holds the drill bit.
If it is unscrewing off the gearbox drive shaft, then the screw inside that holds it on the shaft has come loose.
Get the chuck open and take the bit out. There should be a loose screw inside the chuck. Thread the chuck back onto the end of the drive shaft, and then use a screwdriver to reinstall the screw. You will probably have to hold the chuck with a big pair of pliers.
And – if I have misunderstood… sorry. Any chance you can post a picture?
