HARD DRIVE. I am trying to fit Hitachi Deskstar 80Gb 2nd hard drive to my Del 5150 for additional security.
I have installed ntbackup.msi and now have the back-up facility on System Tools.
What is the set-up procedure to instal the hard drive as Local Disk F (the next free position) and to section/format and bring the drive in service ?
Just fit it making sure the jumpers are set to slave if it’s formatted windows will recognise it straight away and it’ll appear in My Computer if it’s not formatted to the control panel click on administrative tool >computer management in the left pane click disk management then in the right pane you see the disk you have fitted right click on your new disk and click format you can also set partitions up here for your new disk
