Question about pickup selector positions on a Fender HSS Strat?
I’ve recently become confused about the positions of the pickup selector switch on my stratocaster.
When the switch is up toward the neck, is that position one or position five?
I always called it position one and thought it was working the neck pup, but I was reading that position one works the humbucker. So, are the numbers just reversed?
Thank You.
I guess the numbering usually starts toward the bridge. Doesn’t really matter, though. All that really matters is which pickup(s) are sounding in each position.
In your case (assuming it hasn’t been re-wired since leaving the factory) it’ll be:
Neck – Neck+MId – Mid – Mid+Bridge – Bridge
if you’re right handed and looking at it from playing position.
