I am having trouble hanging a curtain rod from ceiling.?
No drill bit will penetrate this ceiling in the apartment and I need to cover a 22 ft. length of windows. Sun shines in 5 to 7 hours a day and the drapes i have will be ideal if i can find a way to hang them.
Has anyone had experience with heavy-duty adhesives such as Velcro or self-adhesive hooks ? Can someone solve this dilema for me ? \

Well now, here goes. 1st off it sounds like your apartment has a concrete ceiling , if so what we need is a 6mm masonary drill bit and a hammer drill,check out your boyfriends or friends and borrow one, some hardware stores hire them, if your in a lucky area, that is! Then you obtain a block of wood 4 inches ( 100mm ) wide, and using it as a guide, off the window wall, with a pencil mark a series of marks along the ceiling,it would be easy if you have 4 or 5 drapes, that way you can measure the drapes and put your marks at the width of the drapes, then drill your holes with the 6mm drill, and put the rawell plugs in the holes ( which i forgot to get at the h/ware) then screw in the 1 1/2″ hooks, did we get them? good!! ’cause i forgot, Daah. slide your drapes on the 1 1/4″ rod and presto !!!! carnarvon we have lift off. If your window doesn’t have a bit of concrete above it ,below ceiling, then you’ll have to sit on the lounge or bed with a glass of nice wine and think how to get across the window space. Happy drill’n,drap’n ‘n drink’n……..
