Pocket diapers: Is it better to snap in the liner, or slide it in a pocket?
I want to try making a pocket diaper, but I’m not sure which would be the better way to go. I’d probably velcro the liner in, since I don’t have a snap setter thing. Or, should I just leave the front of the diaper open and slide it in?
I should have mentioned, I’m expecting in July, so I plan on using these for a newborn, if that would make a difference.
A true pocket diaper just has an opening in the back where you slide an insert in, Fuzzi Bunz are like this (see link below). There are no snaps or velcro to keep the insert in, it just stays in. Some pocket diapers, like the bumGenius in the link below have a flap over the opening to keep the insert in. When they are dirty you take the insert out and wash both parts before use again.

My favourite pocket diapers actually have a zippered opening in the front to get the insert in and out of.

There are all-in-2 diapers that are a cover with snaps and soaker pads with snaps. You can snap in and out the pads and reuse the cover a few times. The pads must always be washed before using again.
