Should I use a bug bomb in my storage unit before I bring things home JUST IN CASE?
My stuff has been there about a year. The items I’m really concerned with are our mattress that sometimes gets uncovered when we look through things. I have toys and baby equipment that I’d like to give away. They exterminate regularly and I’ve only seen regular bugs (spiders and pill bugs) in the hallways when I go there. I do not want to bring anything home though. I can’t set the bomb off at home after the items are there b/c I have a 2 year old and that just won’t work. My roommate and I brought roaches home from storage in college so I’m really worried about not doing any preventative measures. Should I set bomb off in storage? Should I set bomb off in U-haul and let it sit? Any alternatives to bombing? HELP!!!
Vacuuming is safer then you get everything without poisons. I had stuff in a storage unit for 6 months and we didn’t find any bugs in our stuff. As long as the storage place exerteminates regularly you should be fine.. but vacuum the mattress before it goes in the house and unpack outside on the porch if your that concerned.
