Fan speed controllers…! – bit of help please…?
Morning Guys,
I’m a bit of a geek and I want to reduce the noise of my PC, so I’m replacing 2 of my computer case fans and getting a speed controller for the front bay…
(GPU and PSU already replaced with quieter counterparts).
So I’ve found some amber AKASA fans. – A 120mm for the front and an 80mm for the side. With those fancy converting cables that convert the usual molex connection into that smaller type that I think you usually plug into a fan controller….

So I *think* that it will work, but my question to you all is……
I think that this controller apparently monitors the temperature and adjusts fan speed as a result (like a feedback loop). – But how the hell does a front bay speed controller know how hot it is at the back of the case? – Do these things come with temperature sensors to stick on the fans or something?
Yes they do I have one LED front mount like that for a hard drive. Hey you are having an inexpensive good time. I like what you are doing. You will get use to the fans coming on because you will be on board and the down time your computer gets will be quiet; depend on your screen saver to reduce fan noise. I use the original desktop image from the showroom and a blank screensaver (dark).
