How can you tell the difference between a concrete bit and a wood bit?
It sounds like a joke, but it’s not! I have a couple of 4mm drill bits, and I think one is concrete, and one is wood. I can’t decipher the writing on them. How else can I guess which is which?
A wood drill bit will usually be pointed on its end, so it can easily cut into wood or metal.
A masonry bit will usually have a flat carbide fin wedged in the tip of the bit. The carbide ‘fin’ is Very hard – it dose not cut through the cement, it just pulverizes/breaks it up.
