how to repair wood track in drawer?
There are a few drawers in my kitchen where the wood track is extremely old and worn and sheds bits of wood every time I open/close it.. the landlord won’t replace it since it isn’t completely broken – Is there any way to repair this without replacing the entire track myself? The track looks just like the one on this site: http://doitbest.com/main.aspx?memberid=1875h&associate=true&pageid=64&sku=229733
Try waxing it.
Gulf brand wax works pretty well for this type of application. It comes in a box, and has 4 or 5 slabs of wax. Just rub it onto the slide, all the way around, and this will help lubricate the slide, which should result in fewer slivers of wood peeling off, hehe.
The same wax can be used to lubricate vinyl windows too.
