hi there..if anyone have the knowledge of painting furniture please help!!!?
well…i’ve decide to paint my furniture which is a bookcase…So, i propose my idea to my boyfriend..apparently he said a furniture shouldn’t and couldn’t by any mean be paint. is that true??..he also mentioned if and only if the furniture is totally wood then i may proceed. If in case like my bookcase which is not made totally by wood but also combination of paper board(if im not mistaken) couldn’t be paint..please help..because im so addicted with DIY craft lately and i see the bookcase as my first step to start my new hobby…any ideas is welcome…
Wow I hate to get in the middle of a dispute…but..yeah..Like the Visene commercial…There’s a paint for that.
You will need to rough sand and use a primer paint meant for wood covering. Then paint with a good paint made for cabinets not a wall paint. This type of paint is more durable and scratch and scuff resistant and can be scrubbed. Ask your local paint dealer they will help.

I’m going to venture to guess that what you have is not finished in MDF or fibreboard but that it has a laminate over it, like they use on counter tops. And yes you can paint over laminate with a good kitchen paint.
