Wood Drill Bit Types
Welcome to Center Bits!
Thank you for visiting our site. If you are looking for information about a Wood Drill Bit Types, you have come to the right place.

What drill bit type should you use for hollow plasterboard walls? Is it HSS or a wood bit?
It is for putting up shelves and mirrors. I know a masonery bit is not the answer. I think I should use a drill bit in case I hit a metal join in the stud? When I tried to use a self tapping plug alone, sometimes I hit the framework behind the plasterboard, hence why I am thinking of drilling instead. All your advice is most welcome and thanks in advance.
I am using all purpose wall plugs for hollow and hard walls if this helps.
I live in the UK.
Is a HSS Metal bit ok for plasterboard?
Go with answer one simply because it will give you the sharpest cut. Don’t be tempted to punch a hole in plasterboard it will break out a larger hole on the inside and make your fixings weak.
